Autotrophic Organism

I find it rather absurd that Gustave would be significantly larger than the largest salties around today. Salties certainly get bigger than niles. Now that Lolong is no longer with us Cassius has been returned his crown as the biggest in captivity at 5.48m. There are other well known crocs in Northen Australia that are probably that size or bigger. Brutus is comparable and The Dominator, who shares the same river, is probably even larger. Gustave's elusiveness and terrifying reputation make him legendary so of course size estimates have to be legendary as well. Somehow I feel if he was actually caught and measured it would be a let down for most people. Brutus and the Dominator, on the other hand, are regularly made tourist spectacles for the "Jumping Crocodiles" river cruises. They are seen on a regular basis making it much easier to get realistic size estimates. Edited by snap, Feb 23 2015, 09:15 PM.

do you have pictures of those crocs? and waht abt gustave. its laughable IMO abt his exploits of killing an adult hippo. it must have been already on a verge of death before being killed by gustave. theres a croc called JAWS-3 in India where i live. its one of the largest captive salties |

I don't have a picture of her, but Fluffy was the largest captive snake at the time of her death, or has she been surpassed? |

Here are some cetaceans. For wild ones I have heard only maximum size reports. I haven't found specific individuals. Gambit from uShaka Marine World, South Africa. Caught in 1976, he is claimed to be the largest captive bottlenose dolphin, measuring 3,65 m. long and weighing 490 kg. ![]() Tilikum, the largest captive orca ever. Actually I have heard about some male orca of at least equal size that was caught in Japan decades ago and died quickly. Tilly was about 6,7 m. long and weighed about 5,35 tons. There have also been other large male orcas, like Bingo or Ulises (still alive, long live), but Tilly was quite bigger than them. Unfortunately, he died recently. Now Ulises is the largest (and oldest) male captive killer whale. ![]() JJ the gray whale. Allegedly the largest animal to have ever existed in captive environment. 19,200 pounds (8,700 kg) and 31 feet (9.4 m). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_whale#Captivity
