Wolverine - Gulo gulo The Wolverine is a stocky and muscular animal, considered carnivorous but known on occasion to eat plant material. It has glossy brown hair with stripes of yellow along the sides. The fur is long and dense and does not retain much water, making it very resistant to frost in the wolverine's cold habitat (this has led to some popularity amongst hunters and trappers for its use as a lining in jackets and parkas). The adult Wolverine is about the size of a medium dog, with a length in the usual range of 65-87 cm (25-34 inches), a tail of 17-26 cm (7-10 inches), and weight of 10-20 kg (22-45 lb). Males of the species are as much as 30 percent larger than the females. In appearance the Wolverine resembles a small bear with a long tail. It has been known to give off a very strong, extremely unpleasant odor, giving rise to the nicknames "skunk bear" and "nasty cat." ![]() Human - Homo sapiens Humans (known taxonomically as Homo sapiens, Latin for "wise man" or "knowing man") are the only living species in the Homo genus. Anatomically modern humans originated in Africa about 200,000 years ago, reaching full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago. Humans have a highly developed brain and are capable of abstract reasoning, language, introspection, and problem solving. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees the hands for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of tools than any other living species on Earth. Human body types vary substantially. Although body size is largely determined by genes, it is also significantly influenced by environmental factors such as diet and exercise. The average height of an adult human is about 1.5 to 1.8 m (5 to 6 feet) tall, although this varies significantly from place to place and depending on ethnic origin. The average mass of an adult human is 54–64 kg (120–140 lbs) for females and 76–83 kg (168–183 lbs) for males. Weight can also vary greatly (e.g. obesity). Unlike most other primates, humans are capable of fully bipedal locomotion, thus leaving their arms available for manipulating objects using their hands, aided especially by opposable thumbs.

to tell you the truth i don't really feel comfortable about pitting a "male human" against any wild animal simply bc one needs to be more specific. a 300 lbs mma fighter or experienced killer like say a marine is very very different from a 140-160 lbs mall cop or a fat 300 lbs coach potato. it's like comparing a 75 lbs pet lab to a 175 lbs aggressive working kangal or ovcharka. an avg man stands about 170 cm and weighs about 70-75 kgs, his size coupled with the fact that he generally has to fight nothing other than his gf or a friend means that he's in no way capable of putting up a real fight against a wild animal or a working domesticated animal. some people say that when in danger humans are capable of great feats,,,, and what about our four legged friends?! ever seen a cornered house cat before????!! and i don't want anyone telling me that i'm projecting.... i play sports but i'm saying out loud what i know avg people would do. |

In my opinion, wolverines are underrated on this forum. Sure, they are not as tough as some people think that they are, but they are still better fighters than most animals their own size. I have seen videos of them taking down white tailed deer with ease, much easier than a human could. The durability of them is also amazing, and they are extremly aggressive. there was a video on bbcs planet earth where a huge alpha male wolf tried to kill a wolverine, an the wolverine beat it. I vote wolverine. |

A healthy average male human wins 80%, but it will likely defeat me 55%.

I have a very hard time believing a wolverine would be able to overcome a determined adult human, especially a male of decent condition. The wolverine is within perfect range of a well aimed drop-kick, which would most likely shatter ribs and cause massive internal trauma. They could inflict significant wounds to the lower legs or forearms if they were able to get a human on the ground somehow. But in terms of sheer strength and size, even the average female easily overpowers them and we should be more than able to kill these creatures so long as we don't succumb to panic. This wouldn't even be a contest against a strong and aggressive man of over 60-70 kg. Now children would likely be mauled. Elderly people likely wouldn't stand much chance either. And obese people might be able to just crush them with their weight Freak instances aside, human wins 9.5/10 Edited by Arcadian, Nov 17 2014, 02:20 PM.

A wolverine is much larger relative to adult humans than I initially thought. I'm willing to bet that at least half of the members on this site would get butchered by an enraged 25 kg wolverine. |

Including me. I am too scared to pick up a cat sometimes, picking up a wolverine would be suicide. |

I very much agree with this. Humans have evolved complex brains to solve problems, but are not made for fighting animals with their bare hands. And yes, an angry cat is terrifying and something that you don't swear word with. There is a reason that animal control uses a Ketch All pole-noose to round them up... And even when they're caught, they thrash about and can cause you injury if it's not held away from you. Now imagine trying to grab a wolverine, a much larger animal with larger claws and just as flexible a body. Yes, a man SHOULD BE able to kill a wolverine by beating it and kicking it, maybe throwing it, but at the same time, when dealing with a quick, aggressive and unpredictable animal, it's rarely that simple. The wolverine isn't likely going to let you just start beating upon it. No, the wolverine is going to make you work to kill it and in doing so, the wolverine will spill your blood via razor-sharp claws and teeth. And let's not forget that wolverine can also choke and sicken a man whom has a weak stomach with the powerful musk from its anal glands. A disoriented or sickened fighter is at a disadvantage. |

After seeing Krochel play with an adult male wolverine, I don't like the average man on the streets chances, that animal leaped up to chest height and scrambled up his body like a squirrel, if it's intentions had been less than friendly he would have been in real trouble. Badgers have amputated fingers, a wolverine would do much worse. |

come one if it was real fight and there was no way out than human would probably kill this thing but will get himself/herself injured too. few punches on head of wolverine and human can just throw it around. |

wolverines are vicious creatures they dont like to run away from a fight but if you threw a wolverine around it would probably run they are vicous but they arent stupid but if it had some kind of microchip in its head and it had some kind of mission to kill you throwing it around would just delay the inevitable it sounds easy and we like to think we are as tough as people in the movies but believe me once the wolverine get one good bite in there or one good scratch are you are going to scream like you giving birth to a gall stone Edited by HerpestidaeB4Cat, Jul 6 2016, 10:29 PM.
