I've recently become more interested in dinosaurs (specifically carcharadontosaurus) so I was wondering if you guys know any good books or documentaries on dinosaurs. :)

Lol can I really be the only person on here who has those three books?

The Dinosauria is not mostly an illustrated taxonomic reference work, like the Princeton Field guide. It consists of a systematic revision of the whole clade, with detailed descriptions of the anatomy for each group (but it has some short sections on the individual species too), and a generalised section on dinosaur distribution and biology.

Princeton is more recent than Dinosauria right? Right now I'm leaning towards Princeton because it seems like its easier to understand and less complicated.

As I wrote, it all depends on what you are looking for. The Field Guide is certainly a good book to have.

yes, it’s from 2009, the Dinosauria (second edition) is from 2004

Which one would you pick?

I’ve got both, but the first I got was The Dinosauria. But it wasn’t really a decision between these two at any time.

I can very well imagine that blaze has them, too.

Anyway, you helped me a lot with picking a birthday present request! Many thanks!

But if you could only keep one, which would you keep?

I guess he would prefer The Dinosauria, as he is more into serious research.

"The Dinosauria"

If you wonder about the requesting, my family doesn't like the surprise stuff so much, so I request something.

My birthday was 10 days ago so I guess I can request these books as a belated present. I'll request The Princeton Field Guide and The Dinosauria since I don't really mind which one I get because they both seem like very good books. Thank you and Theropod for helping me :)

I’m leaning towards it, but it is difficult to say. I got them all as birthday presents!
Nice to see I could be of help!

Maybe I will buy the others some day as well. But one is enough at first. As it is quite large, I should have enough to read during vacation.

What I should add is that The Princeton Field guide is particularly interesting from a paleoart-perspective. If you take no strong interest in palaeontography, other books can likely give you more reliable data.

These aren't all about dinosaurs, but the books in the Life of the Past series are awesome. They all focus on either a single ecosystem or a single animal and cover just about everything there is to know about them.
