I counted about 7 dogs biting it at once. I don't think even a big leopard could fend something that overwhelming off to be honest. We talk about dogs taking on larger and more dangerous animals with that tactic, but it's rare to actually see

I think we've all seen many instances where a female is wrongly referred to as a male. Given that leopard's size I'd be hard pressed to believe it's not a small leopardess or if male a juvenile as that leopard is cape leopard small.

all leopards escape from a pack of awd, a pack of them is too much and being the best of coordination they are truly dangerous even in 3-4 for a big male

I think it is "him" in the article for the generic term "leopard" who is a masculine word.
I don't think it's necessarily a leopardess though, i think it's maybe a young leopard.
Rare account, nice find RojJones.

Said leopard gave a admirable defense:

"All the adult dogs piled in, killing him within a few minutes and despite the leopard’s energetic defense it did not manage to injure any of the dogs too badly."

A fully grown tom's defense would be much more effective, but I agree 7 is a bit overwhelming.

the difference here in my opinio is that a big tom would manage to escape

How could they possibly know what gender the leopard was? Regardless, its a small cat. Smaller then some of the dogs by the looks of it

Maybe because its hard to see the cat when its fur is blending in the grass?

If it was a large leopard, we would be able to tell. Just look at the size of its head

Wild dogs are aggressive, they eat their prey alive. If you cannot find a way to prevent a group attacking you from behind, you might end of dying on the spot or dying later.

Notice how much of an advantage the wild dogs had over the hyena before it was smart enough to back into a bush where they couldn't be swarmed and also had to attack only the front, against the most dangerous part of a hyena.

However the incidents of these deaths are rare because they escaped. I agree it is a small leopard and if were larger would have left more wounds on the dogs before succumbing to its death.

Lions have been mauled to death by wild dogs. A lot of people don't think that these dogs or others, as well as hyenas can kill the big cats. Its mainly intimidation, if the dogs are serious, they can and will kill bigger predators in Africa, asia, and north America.

I have never heard of a reliable account of a pack of wild dogs killing a lion.

Its funny how Wild dogs give hyenas the exact same grief as they give lions. Though Lions kill hyenas, I have never heard of a hyena killing a wild dog. Must be too quick for them.
