Picking out the best candidates that demonstrate their respective species' anatomical assets. In this sense, I refer to their muscularity and definition. A glimpse into the musculature of various animals. I'm only posting pictures that I think represent each species the best. The amount of pictures for each species has no significance on my outlook of that particular species- it's just that I didn't deem some of them as worthwhile. Here we go and feel free to add to this. Lion, Panthera leo: ![]() Common Chimpanzee, Pan troglodytes: ![]() ![]() Red Kangaroo, Macropus rufus (fun fact is that a study suggests male 'roos will intentionally pose in various ways to emphasize their biceps in order to impress females: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/its-not-just-men-who-flex-their-biceps-at-womenkangaroos-do-too-18497936/ http://science.time.com/2013/07/30/sexy-kangaroos-you-read-that-right-its-all-about-the-biceps/): ![]() ![]() ![]() Belgian Blue Cattle, Bos primigenius taurus: ![]() ![]() Pitbull, Canis lupus familiaris: ![]() ![]() ![]() Western Gorilla, Gorilla gorilla: ![]() ![]() Hampshire pig, Sus scrofa domesticus: ![]() Rhesus macaque, Macaca mulatta ![]() American Quarter Horse, Equus ferus caballus ![]() ![]() Here's Wendy the Whippet who has myostatin deficiency: ![]() Some featherless chickens, Naked-neck x broiler chicken cross- musculature (notably the lower body and haunches) may offer some similarities to their reptilian theropod ancestors. Notice the cool-looking claws at the ends of their forearm digits- next time you have rotisserie chicken, try looking for it, you might find it. ![]() ![]() Edited by Der Grossmann, Jul 13 2014, 04:40 AM.
