http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000088383 i find this questionable because the python was said to be only 9 ft long. however, pythons have swallowed very large prey items before. a good example would be the reticulated python swallowing young cow video. |

Much like canines hyenas lack the correct morphology to properly defend themselves against constricting snakes even much smaller than themselves so assuming a hyena was successfully coiled around their isn't much outside of dying that it can do however actually swallowing an animal as large as a hyena is surprising |

well, the article doesn't mention what type of hyena it was. it could of been a striped hyena. they live in kenya, don't they? either way, still impressive for a 9 ft python.
