Well, they have.....
That bobcat fought as furiously as a feral cat, nothing special really.

So you say.... rolleyes

And a dog the same size would not be able to put up the same resistance like the bobcat did.

I dunno; I tend to feel as if this bob displayed a good deal more
of power & explosiveness than any feral cat could manage.
Do you see its claws get imbedded in the stick?

Consider how it had one of its forelegs trapped-greatly limiting
its movements...

A larger canid would have a lot of trouble subduing a bobcat
like that imo.

Whilst that was undeniably a furious display, I think t is worth mentioning that Patterdales (which are a small but very hardy breed, for those who didn't know) have dispatched adult bobcats, in this case incurring serious injury but still emerging the victor:

Since a small working breed has proven capable of subduing a bobcat, I'd imagine a larger working dog which was not afraid to engage wouldn't fare much worse.

I foresee a dog vs cat debate.

Are we really impressed at a cat clawing a stick? And desperately trying to get away from a man
Is this what's hot in the Carnivora streets?

Let's talk about how a staffordshires neck would prove too thick and muscular to even be pinned by such a thin stick

(Trolling kinda)

Not really

'we'...maybe not...'I' however, thought the bobcat displayed remarkable explosiveness & agility,
despite having one of its forelimbs trapped...

No weight was given for that specific cat.

There is an account of a 19 pound bobcat that was dispatched by a 21 pound Jadgterrier however. I believe that dog was bred by Jagdedge kennels.

I'd also like to clarify that I am not implying that working terriers would invariably come out the winner in an altercation with a bobcat, simply that your assertion that a larger canid would face difficulty restraining a writhing bobcat is contrasted by the fact that smaller dogs have accomplished just that.
