It isn't that different from reintroduction. But I don't see where mammoths have to live when they would be resurrected - except maybe for Pleistocene Park in Siberia.

I would love to see the marsupial wolf back. But that doesn't justify it, does it?

I think animals that have been extinct for a very long time and don't have a suitable habitat to live in (mammoth) shouldn't be brought back. However, recently extinct animals with a large area to live in that could find a niche relatively easy (thylacine) should be brought back.

The dire wolf didn't go extinct because of humans. I do not think there is a reason to bring those back.

the whole niche CHANGED. theres nothing to feed the wolves. plus, looking into it, they had a very high amount of sexual competition. the last dire wolves could have killed their species in fights. the only place i can think of that would feed them is Africa. and they'd have to be shaved or adapt fast. plus they'd spell disaster for hyenas if they formed huge packs. we shouldn't cause trouble for no reason.

Yes but 7574 doesn't understand english well, (as if you haven't noticed) so I was just pointing it out in particular.

Maybe the comment was unnecessary - it sounded somewhat rude - but I understood and wanted to confirm it.

Nothing wrong with bringing back extinct species.
Its not like people are going to be cloning and releasing really weird out of place stuff anyway.

Haast eagle might not be that practical, it could prey on humans or livestock. There were several species of moa, I'm unsure how they would do in the new New Zealand. Lot's of new plant species have been introduced, not to mention most of the forest is lost.

Thats's what I think - it is not up to me to decide.

Assuming it isn't still out there...
