Nice and rare pictures taken, the cougar seems to have been trampled over in the 5th picture.

Yeh, but still she didn't let go. Too bad there's no video, I would like to see how the guanaco was killed, the puma was bitting the back of the head in the 6th picture, maybe that was the killing blow.

Nice find.

I also admire this particular Chilean landscape, the grayish color and that typical color of green.

indeed....

I guess the photographer doesn't realize that
there are camcorders now that have the option
of taking stills from video....

wasted opportunity as actual video footage of cougars
hunting is all to rare.

While true, the quality of photos are rather crappy in comparison.
That photographers priority was on pictures.

come on, when you are on a trip, with your big "Nikon D800" with the intention to make good landscape Photos, and this suddenly happens....believe me, you have not the time to switch from photo to video mode.
You have maybe only one second.
All you can do, is to push the button.

Edit: it was a Canon EOS Rebel T3i :)

hmmm...well-I see your point; wasn't considering
that scenario at all.

Funny how the average joes consistently are in
positions & situations that would make professional
wildlife film makers a bit envious...it never fails!

I considered that; one would think that in this age,
that there would be the option of cameras being
able to take either studio quality photos or videos
in one piece of equipment.... -_-
