Dragonfly eats giant asian hornet

Description: (pulled from Video)
This Dragonfly eats a giant Asian hornet after catching it the air.
no joke the Dragonfly was enjoying the meal as you can see on the video.

Is that actually a giant asian hornet? Just questioning it because it looks to be way too small in comparison to the dragonfly to be one.

It's too blurry, shadowy, and shaky for me to tell much about the hornet. There are some massive dragonfly species though.

That is Anotogaster sieboldii which stays under 4 inches. Couldn't be a japanese giant or it would be way way bigger proportionally.

Considering that A. sieboldii is a Japanese native, I agree that if it is V. mandarinia that the dragonfly is killing it's probably japonica. The hornet doesn't look half the length of the dragonfly though.

The hornet in the video does appear to be a remnant though (just a head and thorax)

All I can say on this is that I know that the Asian predatory wasp is often confused as Asian giant hornets. But it doesn't look to be this species of hornet either. The Asian predatory wasp can be found in Japan.
