"Gorillas are murderous brutes"

Yes I have heard people say that!

"Lions are noble animals and hyena are evil" -just about any time someone calls a carnivor "evil" triggers me. Becuase an animal doing what it is born to do makes it evil. *rolls eyes*
There are several gimmicks for animals. Like that foxes are cunning or owls are wise. Actually the previous two might originate from Aesop.
Haven't there been incidents of people killed by gorillas?

/\ I totally agree.
"Religon is stupid" Seriously, people? That's not an argument.
Religion has a good central point but it has expanded to the point that it IS stupid. Worshipping bones and accepting a debunked cosmotheory as the absolute truth. It's the 21st century people! It surprises me that after two goddamn millenniums some people still believe in God, even though there has been absolutely no proof for him!

Speaking about it
"You don't need proof. Only faith."
And i have faith. You can't change that about me.

William Lane Craig would probably disagree with that statement (I'm sure you meant evidence, absolute proofs only exist in mathematics and other definition-based abstractions). :D Either way, I believe nearly everyone believes in (or wishes) some stuff for which there is no evidence, so I don't believe this is per se terrible (the only thing that bothers me is how certain believers - like Wahhabists or Evangelicals - behave…).

As for the thread itself, I feel like it hugely overlaps with the What annoys you most? thread. Too hugely for me to contribute to the threads topic itself. I don't know if they should be merged, but at least the posts that have little to do with animals should be moved (since this is in the zoology zone).

Atheist instinct: ACTIVATED

Seriously now. Simple faith doesn't help with anything.

I'm not a feminist tumblrina, I don't get triggered.

lol jk

What peeves me tbh is that people think zoos actually contribute to conservation and education, when in reality they don't.

But what if a "zoo" actually saves animals? Like thousands of them?

Faith is an essential aspect of everyday life. We have faith that our reasoning and logical understanding of the world is true, and that our memories are real. The theory of relativity requires just as much faith as believing in a God.

Actually any person can define right and wrong, cause basically such terms don't exist by nature. The universe is just the universe and an event is just an event. That's why sense of right and wrong is different among people. But everyone tries to support his opinion about right and wrong using arguments.

"Nature is full of balance and harmony"

Why don't you ask caterpillars that fall victims to parasitoid wasps and the star HDE 226868?

"The Earth is only 6,000 years old." That one is soooo annoying. When I see that, I immediately show the person otherwise.

"Pterodactyls are flying dinosaurs" I know some people probably don't know much about dinosaurs at first, but they should atleast research before saying something like that.
