Does the Bobcat view the domestic cat as prey...or a competitive cousin? Does anybody have any information on the interactions between Bobcats and Domestic Cats...you may think this is a dumb question, but Bobcats seem to be calm in "close" proximity to cats. ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Considering Bob is a domestic cat I'd say they get along really well. In all seriousness I do believe the bobcat has a healthy respect of domestic cats from one documentary I saw the domestic cat attack the bobcat and the bobcat ran away. Or that could be highly inaccurate and the bobcat just couldn't be bothered. |

Here's one domestic cat that certainly didn't enjoy a bobcat's company: I'm sure that the average encounter between a bobcat and a stray or feral domestic cat would result in a dead or badly wounded domestic cat. Or maybe they would just ignore each other? |

one eats the other, i'll let you figure that one out. http://www.kcra.com/article/wild-bobcat-that-killed-3-house-cats-captured-in-el-dorado-county/6419873 Prevention and Control of Wildlife Damage:(bobcats) http://www.cbsnews.com/news/house-cat-survives-bobcat-attack-outside-california-home/ Generally when its one cat interacting with a smaller cat, the larger one will eat the smaller one; save for outlier cases in which it doesn't go quite as expected Edited by Ceratodromeus, Dec 19 2016, 08:54 AM.
