What do you mean? There's no option or something?

When I click on "New Topic" in the Extinct Animals profile section, it says "You do not have permission to start a topic in this forum".

For extinct animals, you also use the "New Animal Profiles" section.

I've posted this before; I want to see underrated animals get more attention. Notice how often the red fox has been used in movies - say Disney - when there's a bunch of animals that could be used as a trickster figure. There's several species of foxes available; there's false foxes; there's coyotes; and so on. Of course there have been movies like Madagascar too. Anyway, the media is responsible for what people know about animals. Not that trickster species need much media exposure; since those do well. I'm not sure however if the depiction of endangered species actually helps. Rhinos have been in the spotlight for some time and they are still vulnerable to extinction. In all honesty; I do not care that much about large megafauna, though some people do. For me it is all downsize, downsize, downsize. Urban areas are evolving to become more diverse; I'm imagining; as long as there's a diverse range of microhabitats. As long as mesopredators are left alone; more of them could adapt to the city alongside several species of birds, rodents and invertebrates.

How do you get permission to create animal profiles? I want to start one for the Patagonian platypus, Monotrematum sudamericanum.

Excellent! You can start that profile here: New Animal Profiles
