I'm sure most on this board would've picked the Tiger!! The Tiger seemed to have the upper hand but then the Sloth Bear turned things around & the tiger was running for it's LIFE! LMAO! And this is a FULL size adult male tiger NOT a tigress! Imagine what a big black bear could do to a tiger not to mention a Grizzly bear!

The thick fur of the Sloth bear clearly helped it fend off the tiger.

it was an impressive show by the bear, but in reality the only one whos life was in danger was the bears.

theres another video of a face to face encounter with a tiger killing a sloth bear pretty quickly.

While I believe the Tiger to be often overrated, you are using an odd sense of logic. The Bear was the one taking all the injuries and getting thrown around most of the fight and the Tiger to me atleast, appeared rather inexperienced. Perhaps a young adult, despite what the vid claims.
Besides, Tigers have killed and eaten all the 3 Bear species you mentioned. The difference is that in these match ups, the Tiger would not have lost nerve or interest and would have completed the fight as this one was winning.

I feel like we have someone here who has something against Tigers.

This doesn't give an indication of what a grizzly bear or a black bear could do to a tiger at all.

Grizzly bears and black bears have failed to kill small animals as well.

For example even bison calves have escaped from grizzly bears that have grabbed them, and black bears have failed to compete with house cats!

Thus, this argument is rudimentary.

^I was wondering if I should post the vids of house cats chasing Alligators and Black Bears away and then state "imagine what a Bobcat could do to a Bear, let alone a Tiger".

Ha ha, exactly.

The logic presented by this poster is complete rubbish.

Things to look for when when finding unreliable and/or biased posters.

1: Do they write random words in capslock.
2: Do they write way too many "!!!" in their sentences.
3: Do they use words as "LMAO" in the same sentence they are telling you why to favor their animal.
4: Do they try to overly underrate the animal which they semingly don't like, and overrate the animal they want to win.
5: Do they use bad logic as stand offs, fend offs, ABC logic and so forth to prove their case.
6: Are they immature.

Here's the more in depth story:

It was a female Sloth bear vs. male Bengal Tiger

The most impressive thing about the video is a cat tried to fight something face to face. It failed of course but props for trying. That is a confident rugged cat.

100% serious, what's the problem? Its unusual for a cat to behave like that, but seen in tigers, lions and jaguars sometimes and its cool to see when it happens. It shows they're breaking away from their feline roots and realising they are a big powerful beast. Like I said seeing that confidence and ruggedness from felines is impressive. I'm not so invested in who kills who or who lives or whatever, even if the tiger somehow died I'd still be most impressed with its confidence to just walk up face to face and try to kill a bear. That would be the most interesting part of the video, still even if the bear killed the tiger.

Everyone here takes fights as too much of a formula. This isn't pokemon where you just look at their stats and type, and know how things are going to go down.

Your logic is flawed because while size and power do matter in nature, there is no guarantee. Lioness, male and female, are 2 to 3 times the weight and size of a leopard and kill them rather easily, but there is a video of four lionesses struggling and failing to kill one leopard. Get what I'm saying? No guarantee. Also, take into account that even small and defenseless looking animals can potentially injure a larger one to the point where that injury could get infected or cause the animal starve due to not being able to hunt. I'll use the sloth bear fending off the tiger for reference. If the sloth bear got in one good lick (no, not with the tongue), it could injure the tiger so badly that the tiger could not hunt and therefor would starve. Predators often calculate the odds, and if the odds are stacked against them, they won't take the risk. Remember, there are no hospitals in the wild.

Ryo, asking Grazier anything about cats (or dogs) is a futile exercise. He has wasted over a decade of his life on animal forums proving to all he knows nothing. The much maligned Felinepowah is a more knowledgeable poster on these issues than Grazier, and I am being serious.
