A caterpillar species has developed a defense mechanisms that allows it to grab and throw its enemies, like carnivorous beetles. It's apparently very efficient, out of 25 experiments performed in a study the beetle always failed its predation attempts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFzo1fpmMqU |

Very interesting. The caterpillar in the video was much bigger than the beetle. Do you think it would work on a predator that's similar sized or a bit larger than the caterpillar?

I doubt it, but I don't think there are many, at least among bugs. |

I see. This caterpillar has a cool way to defend itself. Edited by Lightning, Mar 15 2018, 10:48 AM.
