Wow, that gecko was so close to escaping. Although I love both squamates, I've always felt sorry for most lizards (Unless varanids are involved. Those lizards can actually fight.) because they seem so helpless when fighting snakes. I kind of wished that the gecko would escape and due to natural selection, its whole species would be great at fighting snakes...

There was another video with a Leopard killing a larger Martial eagle in a tree but I didn't want to share that because it's pretty bad.

Yep he put up one hell of a fight, really made that snake work for his meal but to the snakes credit it was quite the display of tenacity and stamina.
Many a snake would have simply given up against such a stubborn prey animal.

I always feel sorry about cheetah deaths ...

for me cheetas are the most peaceful and quiet predator.. they arent agressive like other animals.

Well territorial males will still fight others violently, many of which to the death, over territory, especially with coalitions.
Though them committing infanticide is more uncommon than other large cats.

Yes but, most of territorial fights... just end with a little battle... without any death.
