Wolverine takes down caribou

The wolverine taking the caribou is an extremely impressive find. You always hear of their abilities to take large stranded ungulates in the snow but almost never see one on video. Impressive find!

Really doesn't take away a wolverine killed a caribou. It is indeed an impressive fest of predation in its own right.

We are a subdued group driving back to camp. On the way, we see the carcass of a dead hyena wedged high in a tree. This is a suprise. Hyena are not often a meal for leopard.

While I have no doubt nile crocs dominate the otters they live alongside, this is perhaps the first recent case with photo evidence of a crocodile outmatching a similarly-sized otter.

An incredibly interesting cheetah sighting yesterday!

One of our females and her fully grown male cub were hanging around the plains near Nyara Swiga when they spotted a leopard a short distance away from them. The cheetahs ran towards the leopard scaring it into a nearby tree. Eventually it tried to come down at which point the cub lunged towards it in a full threat display which made the leopard turn tail and disappear back up into the tree!

The leopard, a full grown male, only summoned up the courage to try and escape again when the cheetahs started walking away, although when the cheetahs saw what was happening they turned around and gave chase forcing the leopard to hide in another tree - he didn't dare try again until the cheetahs had disappeared into the distance!

An extremely unusual occurrence which was very exciting to watch!
