I'm born in Canada. My parents were born in Africa, but our ancestors migrated to African from North India, therefore I am North Indian by heritage/ethnicity, and my nationality (parents also (came here for university and decided to get a job and stay)), is Canadian.

Nepalese. Most people haven't heard of it but it's just north of India and south of china basically in the space between them. And most people think Mt Everest is in India. WRONG!!! The 8,850meter mountain is in Nepal. And just a fun fact Nepal is the only country to have a triangle flag,it represents the mountains. |

Nationality is American. Ethnicthity wise, I'm a Euromutt. 1/8 German, 1/8 Scottish, 1/32 Cherokee Indian, 1/32 Dutch, 1/16 Swedish, 1/4 Irish, and 3/8 English. What I really find interesting is the ethnic background of my ethnic background. For example, if you have English in your blood, then you likely have Celt, Angle, Saxon, Jute, Viking, French, Roman and Sarmatian in you (Sarmatians were steppe peoples originally from Iran, Rome employed them in their military and many of them settled in Britannia; those that didn't go to Britain were wiped out by the Huns.) There is also evidence that I have some Jew in my background. |

I was born in Burma (Myanmar). I think overly evaluating ethnicity is a bit pointless, as everyone can have several points of origin in many directions if you go back far enough. For instance, my ethnic group (Hakha-Chin) has barely edged 1 million individuals since our "evolution," so to speak, approximately 600 years ago (relatively young peoples). So only a few generations ago, my ancestors could have mixed with neighboring Thais, ethnic Indians, and probably even Chinese traders. Yet I define myself based on my most recent cultural ancestors. I find it cleaner and clearer, although there is room for grayer area in some cases. |
