A lioness and cougar. In addition to the size difference it's interesting to note the difference in proportions.

Golden jackal and red fox. Sorry if it seems morbid, but this picture is pretty unique.

Nice, Not much difference in size between the 2. Its just that the jackal has longer legs. Also the foxes head looks more impressive. British red foxes can actually get bigger then black backed jackals.

The jackal does look more wolf/dog like.

Red fox/golden jackal/grey wolf size comparison.

Red fox and golden jackal skulls. Once again, the similarity in size is striking.

They coexist in the Balkans and the Middle East.

According to this article http://www.tau.ac.il/lifesci/zoology/members/yom-tov/articles/Behavioural_responses_of_red_foxes.pdf red foxes avoid golden jackals.

A red river hog and warthog shot in the Central African Republic (CAR). Most of CAR lies in the forest/savanna transition belt where the Congo Basin rainforest gives way to the savanna in the north. As a result both forest and savanna species are found living side by side and certain animals like the buffalo and elephants in the region represent the transition forms between the forest and savanna types.

Skulls of various animals confiscated from poachers in Gabon. They include skulls of red river hogs, gorilla, chimps, a forest buffalo, and a leopard. The leopard skull appears quite impressive and most probably came from an adult male. http://www.nickgarbutt.com/photo-galleries/environmental
