No there are no specimens this size on record. There are no complete squids concidered to have reached maximum size available for comparison. I based my proportions off of estimated sizes provide by the profile on this forum, I figured that was best concidering it was to be used here. Though feel free to disreguard it if you dont like it as it is not official or anything. The mantle length of specimens that have been studied show a mantle of more than half the entire length of the animal. I think a 12m squid would have a mantle atleast 5m if not more. These soft bodied animals are incredibaly plastic so more specimens available for study would reward more exact proportions. Squid Exhibition |
