http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/notrocketscience/2012/04/04/yutyrannus-a-giant-tyrannosaur-with-feathers/#more-6682 Finally, there is good evidence that large tyrannosaurs had feathers! This is outside of the true tyrannosaurs, being more closely related to creatures such as Guanlong, but sheer size alone makes it a good bet that Tyrannosaurus had feathers. |

No it doesn't. The reality is we don't know. Dinosaurs who lived in cold climates could well have been feathered, and their relatives who lived in warm areas may well be not. Like the existence of the woolly rhino doesn't imply that the other rhino species are covered with hair. But - let's imagine that all the friggin' dinos were feathered. Just as a hypothesis. Can you please explain me why you people are so eager to prove it?? Why do you think that a giant chicken or turkey with teeth is so cool? That is what I really cannot understand. Sorry maybe I'm stupid in that case I apologize. I understand that a raptor can be cool. But it flies, it's a completely different kind of animal. Look at this, if it isn't totally ridiculous: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/other-shows/videos/dinosaur-revolution-dancing-gigantoraptor.htm |

Why must people always compare feathered non-avians to chickens and turkeys? There are over ten thousand species of birds and you only focus on galliformes. Maybe the reason many of us think they are cool is because we are not thinking chickens and turkeys, but more like crows, cassowaries, eagles or even blackbirds. |

Times are changing godzillaman. The evidence is leaning more towards dinosaurs being hairy. |

Not all dinosaurs. There are only a handful of dinosaurs that were hairy, as tons of dinosaurs have been found with scales. The rage is building up inside me; people are now regarding dinosaurs as giant chickens! Some even think all dinosaurs were feathery!

Chickens? Why regard feathered dinosaurs as feathered chickens? Why not more impressive birds, like corvids, birds of prey, and others. And why not? |

Dinosaurs used to be depicted as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_YnYf_s9zM Now, they are depicted as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zdutml1hSmk It's kind of depressing

Because that is what they "feel" like nowadays. They seem like weak, wannabes rather than true monsters now that people are claiming that "maybe all dinosaurs had feathers". |

There haven´t been more dinosaurs proven to be scaly than have been proven to posess feathers, and what´s the problem with assuming them to be similar to some impressive bird, not a chicken. Seriously, ti seems like the only birds those feather-haters know are chickens and turkeys. what about a ratite or bird of prey, still so depressed? |

How could they be treated like birds of prey if only a few of them actually flew? LOL |

I can see you are really angry about this. I am too. It doesn't seem right for dinosaurs to be feathery. |

Personally I doubt that trex had any feathers, even in the facial areas as they had to shove their snouts in carcasses and seeing how they wouldn't be able wipe their feathers clean with their arms. I think its safe to say that trex was most likely naked.

No it isn´t. it´s a scientific possibility just like them being scaly! @tyrant: waht about tail feathers for display? I find it hard to imagine it completely loosing them. |

Its a possibility, but I reckon that males/females would impress their suitors by beating the crap out of the competition. After all if juvenile trex's break each others jaws for no good reason, I would be surprised if adults looking to mate wouldn't do the same. |
