The person filming it is a dick head, why not just break the fight up instead of laughing like a little girl. Feline fights are all ways so explosive and intense. |

It does show the relatively minimal damage as the result of all that clawing. Also, the two cats seem to run out of breath rather quickly. I suppose such an intra-species fight is ritualized somewhat, it's certainly not a "quick kill" for any of them. They seem to agree on the pauses where they catch their breath. This is not representative of intra-species fighting among other wild felines, IMO. |

My cat absolutely hates other cats, what you see in the video is basically what happens every time another cat comes in our yard. I've broken up fighting dogs before but I wouldn't put my hand near that. Cats can be absolutely vicious when they fight each other. |

Male Leopard clashes I've seen they both seem to tire at similar times and for long periods, though the damage / bloodloss on each other obviously seemed more severe. |

How can you tell how much damage has been done, the fur covers up any cuts and scratches. |

I think he wanted to keep the skin on his hands. |

I can't tell what damage they did, but I can see that they can run around unhindered after the brawls, so that shows something about the damage they didn't do. In other words, they couldn't dispatch each other just by clawing with their hind feet, for example. |

Just because they could still run away doesnt mean they havent do some good damage, we dont get to see the cats afterwards so we will never know. |

I think the skin on the bellies of cats is very loose, to withstand the hind legs kicks. Tigers have this characteristics. So the fact that they didn't cause any serious damage to each others doesn't necessarily mean that they would not wound other species' belly region. |

while the fight is intense, it dose not look any more serious than the other lengthy cat fights I have seen on the web. In fact the same steps of the fights are apparent. 1) Rake/bite 2) Rest 3) Repeat until one or both animals give up. No animals look like they were in any danger of dying, which was great for the cats. Cats have been involved in more serious fights with one another, I have no reason to believe these cats are seriously injured. Edited by Lycaon, Apr 30 2012, 09:37 AM.

Yes, makes lengthy dog fights all the more impressive, after 20 seconds or so the cats need a rest. Also shows that the supposedly better killers struggle just as much as a dog when faced with an equal opponent |

much more impressive. And domestic dogs can kill each other, something I haven't heard of in similar sized domestic cats. |

domestic cats kill each other from infection like ive had cats if i did not take to the vet they would have died from infection of cat bite that got really really bad and nasty and they couldnt walk anymore not from blood loss or anything like that, no domestic cat fights are not like dog fights and no if you put your hand in certain breed dog fights they can turn and kill you a dometic cat is not going to kill you might hurt you and give u a nasty infectionLeopards do kill each other, and i think pumas do also id compare dogs to them. The orange cat might have gotten it bad bitten in the rump he might get some bad bacteria infection and need treatment Not the same as a dog fight which will bleed each other out. I have never heard of cats doing that. Adult cats will kill kittens. and a big cat might kill a small cat. Edited by Ophiophagy, Apr 30 2012, 12:28 PM.
