On average. I'd say 20 feet long and 1,500-1,700 lbs. At maximum. I'd say 30 feet and over 1 ton or more. |

Average? like 6-7m, the largest he have material of was ~7m and it seems to be the only adult Ceratosaurus we have.![]() Mass estimates for this individaul are from 450 to 980kg. Edited by blaze, Jul 5 2012, 03:36 AM.

Ceratosaurus nasicornis:Holotype=5,3m/maximum=6,1m Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus:not sure, on average maybe 6,7-8m and maximum=8,8m, but I'mnot sure. |

The average size of C. dentisulcatus is 7m. The average size of the other two(C. nasicornis & C. magnicornis)is 6m. |

That's a good illustration. If we ignore the confusing issues about the labelling of fossils (I begin to believe that you're right, it may be a simple typo, as you said in the other thread) then that's probably how big it really was. I did some vague calculations based on the numbers in the study I posted previously, and I end up with an average of just around 6.5 m. for the "adult" UMN 5278! Even 7 m is a bit generous, imo. well, At least it had a formidable set of jaws. |
