Tugwaan male leopard have unnerved many people

Canis Lupus buy some book on hyenas in kruger
i think i know more about hyenas than you do. you say you don`t want to watch the video, there you can clearly see thats a young hyena! if you don`t see it than you`re clearly an amateur. and its small aswell!
I do not know your references nor do I know who you are, so I do not care what you say there are other people and are truly knowledgeable about hyenas, who are you?
ok i don`t know who you are either. if you are knowleged about hyenas you would say thats a young one. that video you showed me showed adult hyenas. in that video you can see that the hyenas has much larger and broader head!. they have orange/brownish fur. they have gray legs but their body is orange or browninsh! and their fur is very short, unlike in the video/picture with the leopard.

haha here you ca see taht this hyena who is to the right from 0.5 -0.13 is like the hyena against the leopard in the picture... thats a small one mate...
wet dreams continue
I don't care about the hyena being stronger than leopards I just say what i know about the hyenas... I know male leopards often can dominate also adult hyenas maybe even females.. but this one is a young hyena... I love both hyenas and leopards, hope you didn't think I was a hyena fan or something because I'm not... I think many people are way to focused on who is being the strongest or most agile etc. and then begging to hate the other animal.. like the lion vs tiger debat. I'm not like that I'm very fascinated by both leopards and hyenas, but on this clip I'm sure this is a young one. but let's just forget this I'dont wanna make war here. you are probably great In animals. and every one who is fascinated animal are great people. It's not that many of us :D

yeah i can see that here. and on the picture i can see that the hyena looks big as well. but in the video it look's so small but can be just. wrong from my side as well, but looks young too mee. but you do probably know more about leopards than mee does leopards in Kruger get bigger than those in Zambia? Hyenas are little bit bigger at average in Zambia then they are in Kruger. but leopards does seem to look bigger in Kruger.

When hyenas are in a couple generally one is high rank female if not a matriarch, and onther one is young one or a male
Personal observation of Ted Bailey if i remember well.
Any way this is leopard vs hyena compilation.

The Airstrip male leopard ambushed an impala that was chased into his path by three hyenas. The leopard then had to compete the three hyenas for the meal. The leopard showed incredible resolve against the scavengers and at one stage the carcass was stolen from him. The leopard eventually reclaimed the impala and was able to hoist it to safety into a tree nearby. The sounds from the hyena in this clip are incredible. The Airstrip male is all known for his plucky character and it was on full display during this event! Footage taken by Mr Eeron Pikat.

Nice find! :)

Here is a pretty average account between a Leopard pair and a spotted hyaena, but it is useful to show the damage done by paw swipes. Contrary to what some believe the hyaena's face was not torn off and the damage was minor :

Carnivore Clash on the Linyanti

Posted Image

On a game drive along the Linyanti River, not far from Duma Tau camp, we followed the sound of some monkeys making alarm calls. We came across a spotted hyena, then a bateleur eagle and then not one, but two leopards, moving about in some thick bushes. After half an hour of seeing only glimpses of the two cats through the leaves, they finally came out into the open and we began to get some understanding of what was going on.

The larger of the two leopards was a male, and the other one a female. It appeared as if they were coming to the end of a mating bout, which typically lasts around 3 days with these cats. This female was still intent on mating, and she was showing her intent by approaching the male, and then swishing her tail and rear end right in front of his face. The male had other ideas though, and was clearly done with mating.

Each time the female approached , he would threaten her with a snarl, and growl loudly. He kept moving away from her, and then went up a rain tree. The female began to follow him, and then turned round halfway up the trunk when she met him coming down, with a small impala held in his jaws. She made an agile leap onto a nearby branch to get out of his way. The male leopard landed on the ground running, with the spotted hyena in full pursuit.

Moments later, the hyena returned, with neatly arranged blood droplets on its’ face showing where the leopard had raked it in defence of his food. The male leopard had meanwhile abandoned the kill on the ground, and disappeared. The female then managed to grab what was left of the impala, and hoist it up the nearest mopane tree, where she proceeded to munch away noisily, whilst the aggrieved hyena waited patiently below.

The action all took place very quickly when it happened, and just moments afterward, everything went rather quiet, as if nothing had happened at all.
