Lifting its paws in the air. lol

That's a submissive move I've often seen jackals and coyotes do probably often because they don't want to fight a dominant individual or sometimes just to play. Dogs and wolves may do it but seems rarer.

Jackal: 1, wildcat: 0

I was on a night drive in Namibia when I came across this unusual sighting. One does not expect to see a wildcat lying dead at the feet of a jackal – a mouse or a hare maybe, but not a wildcat. Predator had become prey, but how did this happen? - See more at: http://africageographic.com/blog/jackal-one-wildcat-zero/#sthash.ahV9Lv54.dpuf

Unfortunately we did not witness the actions that led to the scene but as we got closer we saw the jackal was already starting to feed on its new found prey. The jackal was very wary of our presence and nervously picked up the cat and started to move towards shelter. - See more at: http://africageographic.com/blog/jackal-one-wildcat-zero/#sthash.ahV9Lv54.dpuf

Needless to say we had a hearty discussion about what might have been the cause of the cats death. Did the jackal get a free meal or was it sly enough to make the kill itself? On our vehicle we all agreed that it was highly unlikely that the jackal killed the cat.

What do you think? Who killed the wildcat?

I don't see why it would be highly unlikely that the jackal killed it, they are bigger and can outrun a wildcat, nice pictures either-way.

Wishful thinking :D
Though I would not consider the two bystanding dogs as hunting dogs. And one did all the work.

They were more than simple bystanders - it took three dogs each roughly three times the weight of the cat to do a very poor job of killing it.

You are right was indeed a poor kill. A little terrier would do a more impressive of a job, actually many dogs would make a better solo preformance. Good observation! :o
