This just proves that males weighing around 70kg are not uncommon, at least in southern Africa... However, I was wondering about female weight... the average weight for Kruger is around 37kg, but Vomba female seems at least 10kg more imo |

Kurtz, I would not dare to downsize the leopard weights the Londolozi rangers give for their leopards. I had a conversation on Facebook with an renowned photographer and he told me the biggest leopard he has seen was the Ottawa male. Father of Camp Pan male. He was estimated +- 100kg his father a male called Mbombi He told me this. many years back, and not having known him, or seen him, cannot judge his size, but the story goes that when he was old, he was involved in a serious fight with another male. This caused him to lose alot of weight and condition, and the decision was made to dart him, from which he unfortunatly never woke up. When he was weighed, in his bad state, he allegedly weighed in at 103kg. This was in the early 90's.  the Sabi Sand Tom's are huge...

8 years Kurtz, found more pics of the "late" +-100 kg ottawa male leopard he ruled the Sabi Sands in the past
