great shots marc buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut check this: Tugwaan male vs biggest sow ever: Photographically a disaster, but still one of the most incredible sightings I have witnessed, as the Tugwaan male grapples with an enormous warthog sow. He had been mating with the Nottens female when he spotted the warthogs in long grass. Rushing in, he broke the back of a piglet but before he could kill it the mother warthog had hit him in the flank, gashing his hind leg open. He leapt upon her back, but his awkward grip and her sheer size made it difficult for him to gain a stranglehold, and it took him 10 minutes to kill her. The piglet was squealing the whole way through until the Nottens female timidly approached the commotion and ended its suffering. Two leopards, two kills, one sighting. Incredible. f4, 1/250, ISO 200 ![]() http://blog.londolozi.com/2013/05/the-week-in-pictures-80/ impressive Edited by Kurtz, Jun 1 2013, 04:24 AM.

Male leopards become adults at 3 years old, but!.. They normally become indipendent at this age but not yet territorial! They normally become territoril at 4-5 yrs old and at this age they change their look and they brain a lot. At 7 yrs old they are at their peak full mass, experience .. |

Kurtz in some places the weight of the leopard is 152 pounds, but that weight was measured at what age? Must be an overall weight for 4 years or more right? Now what would be the specific weight to these same leopards at the age of 5 or 6 years? A leopard savannah has some 132 pounds, but a leopard savanna with 5 or 6 years as would have on average?? obvious in at or over 5 yrs old is more realistic for 150 pounds, but you must consider that there are huge male that at only 2,5 yrs old can weight 61 or 65 kilos( the first in namibia and second at Phinda GR Zululand) Anyway a 5 years old a male leopard of 65 kilos is far stronger than a male of 2,5 yrs old of same weight. |
