great picsa again Chui, Aberdare mountains leopard produces huge specimens, their heads are acceptional.very wide one recent one of MR Anderson His footprints are now much bigger than the other males, like Tingana and Mvula sometimes mistaken for a female lion Anderson, the beast of a leopard!! this morning he was busy finishing the kill he stole from Lamula, BTW Anderson is bigger than Lamula. they were running side by side during a face off last night. weight wise obviously not sure but he is about an inch higher of his legs and has more bulk than Lamula. Lamula actually left after the whole dispute, a clear victory for Anderson. ![]() ![]() ![]() here Mr Anderson next to Lamula male leopard ( who is by no means a small male, proberly 65-70kg) Here you can see how big Mr Anderson is. ![]() Edited by 1977marc, Jul 12 2015, 01:35 AM.

Another picture and video of a male gabonese leopard in front of the mirror, this video might be unremarked because she was on another youtube account than the usual one, is it a male we already see, or a new one, hard to tell because of the quality.![]() Edited by ManEater, Jul 31 2015, 01:20 AM.

One of my favorite males, Vin Diesel of the Sabi Sands. Credit Majingilane "Mvabala/Vin Diesel male leopard. He was born in 2004 and is ususally found in the Kruger gate area of kruger and also in the Sabi sands. He is a huge leopard, weights around 90 kg, and carries himself with that swag that dominant leopards have along with his pearcing eyes that look right through you. The first time I saw him, my instinctive reaction was WOW, this lad is a tank..." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Allegedly he has been weighed according to his FB page and he is 90kg. New video from Gabon with a big male, the author said he is 90kg, but i see nowhere the source of this claim, but no surprise if he could reach such weight or even more given his fantastic build: Edited by ManEater, Sep 4 2015, 04:32 PM.

Hey ManEater, the Gabon leopard you posted at the top (dated 6/21/2013) is a different individual from the big males we discussed here http://carnivoraforum.com/topic/9867024/1/. This male was actually the first one captured by Xavier's cameras and appears to be an old past prime male, I suspect he is probably dead now. He has a relatively gaunt appearance but a very mean looking head. The second more recent video seems to show a new male in the area as far as I can tell. Judging by the appearance he looks like a young adult male (4-5 years), he has an athletic build and lacks the pronounced dewlap and belly folds typical of mature males. Probably not 90kg yet but may reach such huge size judging by how massive the mature males in this area are. It's awesome that now we have footage of around 4 or 5 different males from this location thanks to Xavier's cameras. It's also great news that due to these cameras poachers are avoiding this area as stated in the video description. Here's yet another video from these cameras of a mating pair in Gabon! The male is absolutely huge compared to the female. Too bad this wasn't captured in daylight which would've provided a much better look. ![]() |

Hey marc, such impressive beasts are absolutely normal for these forest leopards. The evidence has always been there, you just need to know where to look and what to look for. These leopards are kings of their environment unlike their savanna cousins and they hunt more impressive prey it is only logical they will be physically superior. Another beast from Gabon. This one is from Lope NP in central Gabon. ![]() ![]() A female captured in the same spot. The male looks like a lion in comparison.

Nice pictures Chui and thanks for the precisions, places where leopards are king (sri-lanka,west africa, iran, places in india) show really big beasts like these gabonese specimens, it is really exciting to wait for more pictures of new males, the picture with the male and female in the night is just incredible, look a that difference !
