cats will only attack by ambush and will never fight head on.
Thats bullshit. Cats have far more serious 1 on 1 fights than dogs leading to fatalities. Apart from a few instances with wolves, the canine crew can't find any 1 on 1 fatal fights for canines. This is not the case for cats with detailed cases of felines from lynx & ocelot through to lions and tigers killining each others in fights exists.
Canines simply are inferior fighters with inferior weaponary.
here we go again.
Domestic canines kill each other numerous of times in fights. You on the other hand only focus on wild canines knowing that one on one fighs would be rare in the natural wolrd of these social species.

I noted many fights on domestic dogs such a bully kuttas and other mixed breeds killing each other in less than 2 minutes. Obviously your very selective with your term of one on one fights regarding canines.

And here you go again. No one gives a crap about the kind of organised animal cruelty you post as evidence as it is clearly not natural behaviour. If you had any credibility you too would be correcting AK47s error, instead you've started on the excuse path - "knowing that one on one fighs would be rare in the natural wolrd of these social species". Doesnt stop Lions or even the rare wolf 1 on 1.

Canines have superior jaws in most aspects: bite force, R-shift, length of jaw, bite times - by default superior weaponry.
Whilst there's a paper on intraspecific strife that mentions Coyotes, I don't need to find an account of a Coyote killing another coyote - they maul & kill C. Lynx and Bobcats as it is.

Not found a feline killing other carnivorans outside of ambush or a large weight advantage yet?

well wolves live in much smaller packs than most other canids, some percentage even lead solitary lives, and i doubt you could provide much accounts of lionesses killing lionesses one on one, even male lions probably die in fair (one v one) battles less often than wolves

Yeah, hyenas, bears, other felines of their own and other species. Nothing for canines yet?

I wasnt looking for another bunch of excuses Veli, that's Canidae's job. Go and find some accounts of canines killing themselves 1 on 1 if you want to contribute something useful to this deabate.

I'm sure they could, if the species lacking data had any instances recorded.

Only young ones and or females in numbers.

And adult males, very possibly alone.

If you're referring to the accounts you posted before, then just as I suspected, ambushes or youngsters!
Canines have killed felines : Coyotes - Bobcats, C. Lynx, Fox - Domestic Cat. Mustelids : Foxes - Pine Martens. Bears : Wolf - Young Black Bear, Yearling Grizzly.

Your 'suspected's are your own. And the above you provide are easily as 'suspected' group attacks on young specimens.

Come on post away with some canine 1 on 1 fatal fights and quit your diversions and excuses.

thats hardy an excuses, just an explanations, you said that social lifestyle doesn't stop lions or wolves killing opponents one on one:yes i would agree but situations of wolves/lions and dholes, african wild dogs, bush dogs differs. wolves and lions forage alone much more often than dholes or painted dogs so chances of aggressive confrontations between single wolves/lions is much higher compared with other more social canines. I dont need to find anything, here are some people who already did, wolves have been recorded killing each other one on one plus single coyotes and wolves kill domestic dogs quite often, but if you posted accounts of lionesses killing each other one on one this would certainly strengthen your point that cats are more combative ;)

They spend a lot of time alone, and often forage / hunt alone. Most lilkely times they'd encounter a cat!
Besides, there are accounts of lone Coyotes doing it as it is.

Done. At least you noted you want to leave out domestic canines killing each other one on one when you were ranting.
That's all I could care about.

i dont see where i used any excuses I've just pointed out the obviuos, if you dont have any counter-arguments then let it be. canines are social animals of course there will be less mortalities in one v one conflicts, wolves forage alone more often than other wild canids probably thats why there are accounts of deadly one v one fights

ok then post an account of a deadly fight between two lionesses
