Maybe I was a little overzealous with 'disembowel' but I still believe it shows they'll likely dominate a Centipede of similar size.

But go to youtube & type Emperor Scorpion vs Mantis & it shows the Scorpion basically crushing the Mantid's head with it's pincers.

You can't compare a mantis to a centipede as the video shows the scorp failed to do anything but hold the centipede
I have no problem with you favoring the scorpion however, just wanted everyone to know their pincers aren't guillotines.

Yes but you do realize that Centipede kills strictly with venom right as does Tarantula, neither can kill without the use of venom, it's impossible.

Also their is another video of an Emperor killing a Mouse strictly with pincers & jaws, Scorpions are obviously more versatile in killing & combat then both Centipedes & Spiders.

You do know emperor scorpions still kill with venom? They sting repeatedly after holding it down, that doesn't work on armored arthropods like centipedes, while pedes can bite the tails off scorpions. They all kill with venom

I didn't state otherwise, but they don't always use it, just thought I'd let you know.

The Emperor Scorpion will detect the approach of prey through vibrations. Adults will typically kill prey using their powerful claws rather than stingers.

,As with other scorpions that possess large, strong pincers, the emperor scorpion uses the pincers to kill and manipulate prey reserving the sting for larger prey or for use in self-defence (5) (8).

An adult, however, clamps and crushes its prey with powerful pincers, saving the sting for self-defense.

probably, since they're much bigger all they need to do is overpower them

The emperor scorpion feeds on insects, arachnids, mice and small lizards, hunting them at night using its sensory hairs (trichobothria) (4). It has poor eyesight and is preyed upon by bats, birds, small mammals, large spiders, centipedes large lizards and other scorpions (4) (7). As with other scorpions that possess large, strong pincers, the emperor scorpion uses the pincers to kill and manipulate prey, reserving the sting for larger prey or for use in self-defence (5) (8).

As I said before scorpions are the best armed out of the four. They have scaled armor, spiked tail, and deadly pincers (by insect standards)!

Although I'd rate Mantis and Centipede tied for second with Tarantula a distant last.

the best fighters? They get eaten by centipedes, seems they arent that tough.also spiders eat them, shows scorpions aren't as bad as most think

I mentioned the giant water bug cause of those accounts of them taking venomous/huge snakes if only I could get more information of the size and species of the snakes and how the whole thing went down (ambush or no ambush etc.) until then I can't confidently say much about these arthropod's feats.

I don't see one taking a robust 10-18 in. pede I think they stick with smaller 6 inch ones.
