what about time-traveling, isn't that a rather unlikely capability for a theropod?

For all animals actually. We however should focus on animals known physical characteristics and behaviours, before inventing them, or assuming they might of had them.

At least it is not seen in extant ones, jsut like extant ones are mostly social animals and we are for some reason automatically assuming extinct ones weren't.

No sorry, we rely on evidence before conferring characteristics to animals in matchups. If you are not happy with that, you are free to use the Fantasy Face-off part of the forum, and grant animals what ever characteristics you wish. Have fun!
So you think it is fine to grant them the ability to fight animals that they did/do not coexist with, however inferring them to be pack hunters, which is equally likely as them not being, is too speculative for you?

Something like that. Animals are assessed on their known capabilities and behaviours against one another. However we do not assume characteristics that there is no evidence for.

And none against either. If you only take what you have proof for, there is basically nothing in palaeontology that you can use in matchups.

Carnotaurus VS Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus
You do realize that Carnotaurus had a mass estimated at ~1.5-2.1 tonnes, do you? Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus isn't even near that big.

Funnily enough I already had a comparative image between these two.

Though I should note that the weight estimates in it aren't actually based on anything.
