Megantereon vs Dinopithecus

A Megantereon and a Dinopithecus fighting. Both animals lived during the Pliocene and Megantereon (the sabertooth) survived into to the Pleistocene.

Gigantopithecus vs Tiger

Posted Image

Gigantopithecus was a giant ape that roamed South Eastern Asia and India until 100.000 years ago. It was so big, that only two predators were able to bring one down; one was the tiger, the largest living big cat which was already the dominant predator in Gigantopithecus territory. The other was a relative of the great ape; Homo erectus.

Triassic Kraken

Posted Image

A colossal cephalopod captures its prey- a hapless, whale-sized Shonisaurus.
Believe it or not, this drawing is inspired by an actual, insane theory that suggests the existence of such a creature (See [link]). According to the author of the hypothesis, the animal would measure about 30 meters, being potentially the largest predator of all times. (Shonisaurus was about 15 meters long).
Although not many will take it seriously I suposse, I thought the concept was worthy of a picture Posted Image

Ekrixinatosaurus

Posted Image

An Ekrixinatosaurus tries to subdue a young Giganotosaurus :>
It turns out Ekrixinatosaurus was much bigger than previously thought (around 11 meters), possibly the largest known abelisaurid, and was particularly robust and powerful. It was probably a big game hunter, although its size would have been useful to scare other theropods away from their kills.

A Skorpiovenator tries to strangle a young Giganotosaurus, not realizing that himself has become the target of an adult Giganotosaurus.
My sister thinks the adult is a parent coming to protect its young, but I suspect that he is actually planning on eating them both :> I leave it open to your interpretation.

I think it's an adult protecting it's young. I'm not sure what a Giganotosaurus of that size would be doing away from it's parents.
