Awesome picture. Good to see so many powerful breeds in one place. I am also surprised Dobes made the guest list. It looks like there are COs, GSD, Rotts, Dobes, something similar to a Cane corso. THere is the do on the very far right that looks more like a goat to me. |

many of them are just mixes none of them are dobes mixes if done right can be good dogs also for work east european shepherd IS a german shepherd just from czech/ddr/slvoakian bloodlines they often have very strange colors which is what my dog has lot of in her but they are still pure german shepherds. They just come from border patrol dogs. Edited by Ophiophagy, Sep 3 2012, 02:04 AM.

I never said that dogs in the pictures are dobes, in some pictures are pure blood Rotwailers, and some of dogs are probably mixes. I said that Rusian army has various breeds. East European Shepherds are Russian (SSSR) breed - created from mixing GSD with varous Russian breeds- mostly army CO. http://altabrava.ru/eng/index.html it is true that there are lot pure blood GSD but then you can said - GSD from that and that line or type, EES are not GSD, they are separate breed with standard. |

Can you say why are you so sure. Ok labs are not russian breed, so I will not comment it. But what with CO and CAO dogs, why you think that there are CO mixes. |

Well they do use Labradors, and why not? They are best of breeds. Dogs to help Russian servicemen in Tajikistan Julia Galiullina Apr 7, 2012 22:24 Moscow Time ![]() Labrador. The Russian military base 201, which is situated in Tajikistan, recently started to use dogs as mine searchers. The dogs help to clear up firing grounds from unexploded grenades or shells, or look for explosive devices in order to prevent terror acts during public events. The dogs’ handlers at the base 201 have undergone special training in Russia. The Russian contingent has been deployed in Tajikistan since the early 1990s, mainly at the Tajik-Afghan border, and, partially, in the cities of Dushanbe, Kulyab and Kurgan-Tyube. The Russian 201 division took a decisive role in the outcome of the civil war in Tajikistan, which lasted since 1992 till 1997. De-miners of the 201st division are obliged to regularly ‘clear up’ the firing grounds “Lyaur,” “Momirak” and “Sambuli” from all kinds of explosive devices. Each year, exercises to practice operations against terrorists are held at these firing grounds. Because of the very uneven landscape at the firing fields, it is impossible to search for explosive devices with methods traditionally applied in Russia for this purpose. The only possible way is to use mine detectors – and dogs. At present, the military base 201 has more than 10 dogs. As a rule, they are trained in pairs. Shepherd dogs and Rottweilers are, as a rule, trained for guard and patrol duties, while Labradors – for searching mines. Labradors have all the qualities which are needed for a de-miner’s helper – they are perfect sniffers, they are strong, tireless and calm. De-miners say that dogs are often even more reliable than mine detectors. Private Alexey Dudnikov says that he has made friends with all the dogs in the kennel: “I have never dreamed of becoming a dog handler,” Alexey says, “but now, I’ve come to like this work. Moreover, I’ve decided that when I am back from the army, I will become a dog handler in my native city Voronezh.” In July, military units of the base 201 will take part in a joint mock anti-terrorist operation, which will be held in Tajikistan by the countries of the Shanghai Organization. Heavy tanks and armed vehicles will be used in these maneuvers, and dog handlers will have much work to clear up the territory from mines or other explosive devices. Their schedule has already been outlined for several months ahead. At present, Russia and Tajikistan are holding talks which may prolong the staying of the Russian servicemen in Tajikistan for 49 more years. This will guarantee the security of not only Tajikistan but the whole region as well, for there exists a threat of attacks of the Taliban after NATO forces leave Afghanistan. The Taliban may again undertake an attempt of attacking the Tajik capital Dushanbe, like they did in the 1990s, and it would be dangerous to leave Tajikistan to fight against the Taliban alone. http://english.ruvr.ru/2012_04_07/71001056/ |

labs are powerful working dogs for certian purposes well some bloodlines of them are at least, it just seems the picture shows more sentry/attack type dogs labs are still used a lot in police as far as i know for drug sniffing also, they are a very strong dog also, the ones that have been properly bred specially the field labs. As far as mix's militry just will take any mix they dont care what the dog is, if its good they will take it, the best co cao or whatever are the mutts the more mixed types that are working and doing sentry work with a huge gene pool. THey seem to be the bravest. THe cao and co that have been bred here with a small genetics seem to become nerve bags. But the ones out in remote areas are often mix's as far as i know. I am not an expert on them only what some pp people told me about them. A lot come out as crap here in north america cause its hard to duplicate them since they start off as mutts or something. THey seem to be a very hard dog to consistantly produce. So the military would probably take the best of the best that are from mountains or whatever as mutts. Military just want really good dogs thta are tested and proven to do well in the task they want that dog for. |
