It has a chance, but I think, on average, adult humans would be a bit too risky to attack. That is, unless the humans were significantly smaller back then, if that's the case the eagle could take us out! |

I agree, maybe If they see you as a threat to their nest... they would attack and with its size and strength I think they are capable of killing humans. |

i can only see the Eagle possibly winning if it was a surprise hit/run attack. the eagle though big but only weigh 33 pounds for large females. i believe the Maoui people not only hunted their prey to extinction but also the birds themselves later on. |

Well it could kill an adult, but whether it chose too would be a different matter. The 'Taung Child' suggests human like ancestors (although smaller) were possible prey items for ancient eagles like the earlier relatives of Stephanoaetus coronatus:
