Cool pictures! AWD and Jackal (all 3 species) interaction is one of most underrepresented and blurry topic in this board as well as in whole internet database. But it seems interaction of two (or four) canines in africa is less harsher than what is observed between wolves and smaller cousins (golden jackal, coyotes, red foxes etc) in temperate zones.

according to wikipedia:
Quote:

In Africa, golden jackals often eat alongside African wild dogs, and will stand their ground if the dogs try to harass them.[54]

So there is question, what makes AWDs to behave less hostile towards jackals? Less aggressive nature toward other canines? Relatively abundant prey base? Or it is just largely ignored topic by scientists?
