Alright everybody, I'm not a paleontologist by any means but I am a lover of movies, and the Jurassic park franchise is one of my favorites, and I know a fair few of you all feel the same way, not a day goes by were someone isn't posting on what they want the film to be like, who they want to be cast in it and, most importantly which dinosaurs they want to see. So I thought I'd make a thread so we could all post what dinosaurs we want to see in JP4 and why, I'm sure your dinosaur experts will drum up some great, obscure dinosaurs that I've never even heard of but here's the dinosaurs I'd personally like to see in JP4. ![]() 1. The nocturnal, venomous troodon from JP the game. I know if these are the new dinosaurs in the film some people will probably feel cheated because they are small and they've already been featured in the video game. But personally, I love the design and the idea behind these things, nocturnal, pack hunting, venomous predators with eerie glowing eyes, that is a great concept. I think these particular dinosaurs could be used very effectively in the film, if theirs one movie franchise I love it's horror, and horror is one of the most popular genres today. Just look at the success of all the horror movies to come out recently, to me, the idea of these glowing eyed troodon lunging out at people in the dead of night or in a dark enclosed space is really cool and good for jump scares, and movies that make you jump are the ones that say with you the longest, the original JP new this and made use of it in the scene with the velociraptors in the control room you need a fear element to work with the adventure element to make a truly memorable film, and the troodon fits the bill perfectly. ![]() 2. Allosaurus. This is probably the theropod everyone wants to see in this movie, and I can see why. It's just a cool animal, not as big or as powerful as the the tyrannosaurs but still fast enough to run a jeep off the road, I think the addition of a new giant theropod would be welcomed and if they're going to pick any, why not the one the fans are demanding to see? To be honest, theirs probably more giant theropods that I don't know about that could provide an even better candidate, so I'm not really bothered what species the new giant theropod is, as long as it doesn't diminish T.rexes screen time, I'm happy. ![]() 3. Tyrannosaurs Rex. T.rex was my favorite dinosaur when I was a kid and it was everyone elses too, for one reason, Jurassic park. Jurassic park 1 & 2 took an already popular dinosaur and turned it into a superstar. T.rex is the poster child of the franchise, 80% of the people going to watch jurassic park are going for the T.rex, and why shouldn't they love him? T.rex in jurassic parkwas the epitome of cool, and he needs to be restored to his former glory. Don't get me wrong, I liked the spinosaurs in JP3, I thought it made a great addition and it was an awesome animal, but I don't think it should become a trend that the new theropod completely overshadows the T.rex, change is fine but come on, it's the T.rex!! A new dinosaur would be great and revitalize the franchise, but the public want's to see T.rex eating people, smashing down buildings, crushing cars and just generally bringing the pain. So give em what they want, make T.rex like he was in the first two films, so awesome that you were expecting it to bust out of the screen and wreck your whole neighbourhood. Those are the ones I'd most like to see, thoroughly explained. To be honest, I can't see more than one species being introduced effectively because of pacing of the film and money issues, but if they do at least one of the three things I posted I think the movie will be a success, at least to me anyway. |

I would love to see Dilolophosaurus again. And not as a cute little baby spitter. But as a monstrous murderous spitter. |

Ekrixinatosaurus it looks perfect to be the villain not as spino or rexy but looks super tough super aggressive and would eat anything just imagine the people "killing" it only for it to survive and wreck havoc. With croc like skin and deadly jaws just the look of it is like horror http://teratophoneus.deviantart.com/art/Ekrixinatosaurus-novasi-273421690 It be cool to have a different island with lesser known species like troodon only |

Any dinosaur I won't mind. Just Acrocanthosaurus even though chances are it won't be in. Also I think Predator X should should be the main animal in Jurassic Park 4 just like T-Rex was in Jurassic Park 1 & 2 and Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3. I can imagine it being alot worse and more menacing than T-Rex and Spinosaurus. Seriously am I the only one who thinks Predator X should be the main animal in Jurassic Park 4? That would be really awesome. |

I would like to see T.rex and especially Velociraptor, as they are the classics, i also would like to give dilophosaurus a comeback. I would love to see either allosaurus or carnotaurus, and also a deadly herbivore on the rampage, a ceratopsian preferably. |

And at the end just as PX is about to seemingly destroy everything, a megalodon comes in and kills it. |

Again with referring to the name as an excuse to glorify the overrated tyrannosaur. I think Saurophaganax should be the main dinosaur of JP4, and I think Troodon(feathered, not the unfeathered ones from the video games, those were horridly inaccurate) and feathered dromaeosaurs should be featured. Allosaurus, Diplodocus, and Ornitholestes would be great additions as well. Saurophaganax should also kill the Spinosaurus(the one from JP3), and I can imagine the 15-meter estimate for the Saurophaganax being used, portraying it as "the deadliest, and one of the largest, carnivorous dinosaurs known" @DinosaurMichael: Pliosaurus funkei can't go on land, where most of the JP movies' run time are set in. @brolyeuphyfusion, you say it as though T.rexes status in pop culture is personally offensive, T.rex is the star of the show, Spielberg even rewrote the ending of the first JP so the audience could meet the T.rex again. A JP movie without a T.rex is like a Batman movie without Batman, I think spino was a great addition, but T.rex is the crowd pleaser, he's the one the crowds want to see. |

You referenced it's name to glorify it...
A name is just a name. And unlike Batman, where the protagonist is the titular character, Jurassic Park's two main dinosaurs don't even connect to it's name, as both Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus were from the Cretaceous. If, for example, they used Saurophaganax or Torvosaurus, then the main dinosaur could have at least connected with the title. As for well-known dinosaurs, there's Allosaurus... Let the audience be introduced to more dinosaur diversity. Let the "overshadowed" dinosaur species/genera come forth. The audience would like new introductions and more variety. |

@brolyeuphyfusion say what you will, but if there had never been a T.rex in jurassic park, I can guarantee the movie wouldn't have gone on for three sequels, to totally abandon the T.rex in this new installment would be a disservice booth to the franchise and the majority of the fan base. I'm all for new dinosaurs being introduced, just don't forget the dinosaur who put you at the top, and make sure you honor it by letting it cause some chaos for the first time in 10 years. |

A new giant theropod bigger and stronger than the previous one and who kill them would be quite ridiculous and not creative idea. It would be a jurassic park 3 version 2, and we all know how terrible the third is. I want a different schema or it will be annoying. |

I would like to see an adult Dilophosaurus, that would be cool. My second wish would be rivals for the Velociraptor. |
