I've seen young male leopards around that size. How can it be a female for sure?

Any weight estimates for the two animals? The hyena is clearly bigger, but how much? After seeing so many episodes of hyenas dominating pards, I'm not so confident anymore that at parity the cat would win. And if it is smaller the odds are clearly against it.

Look how the hyena charges, it puts its head down like a bull.

It is a smart tactic. The hyena is protecting its face while still being able still keeping the head close to bite. It is especially in position to get a leopard limb. If that were to happen, even if the leopard won the fight, it would most likely die. The leopard was smaller, but it also did not care enough to really fight back. One meal is not worth not being unable to obtain other meals. Either way, a leopard being head-butted by a hyena is priceless.

I think it is a young or not very big male leopard, by looking at its loose neck and belly skin. And a big hyena.

If not a female it is at best a subadult male leopard (2-3 years old). Definitely not an adult male which would not be so much smaller than a hyena. Mature male leopards are fairly easy to identify they are characterized by big masculine looking heads, thick necks with a pronounced dewlap, and overall muscular appearance. See this paper: http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0035209 .

Good effort by the little leopard BTW.

Yeah the leopard is probably a female or sub adult, definitely not a prime male, and the hyena dominated the encounter, i love how it just flew at the leopard, then shrugged it off.

Here is a dominant male leopards reaction to a hyena. To be fair the hyena may be a smaller indivdual than the one posted in first video.
