Just found this today
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfPmspm9qeU

Unfortunately my mammal ID is shite so I can't actually tell what that is.

That said, the lizard seems to have given a pretty good account for itself. Especially considering that the lizard wasn't actually all that big.

Does anyone here remember my thread from a while ago about the bite force of an adult tegu? I suspect an adult male tegu would have rather easily crushed bone in that same sutaation.

The tegu put up quite a fight! I'm impressed it turned the tables so quickly.

Ahh thank you!
I think this could make a good matchup for the interspecific conflict section.

Wow.
That was a classic showcase of mammal - reptile battle on parity.
The reptile more robust and better armed, but carnivoran more than making up for it with agility, flexibility and higher energy level.

And seldom do we get to see parity fights in the wild.

Great video.

M4A2E4 thanks for the great video! Its rare to see two animals fight on even ground that close.

This vid pretty much disproves the belief that mammals can run circles around non lethargic reptiles!

I imagine it is difficult to run circles around anything when your limb is being held and thrashed about.

I wonder - how did the mustelid in the first vid get into this position?
