Gotta love red foxes, used to be regular visitors to my garden, haven't seen one for a while though..

Anyway, thought I'd post some of the different subspecies so we could all compare:

Posted Image
British Red fox
Posted Image
American
Posted Image
Russian
Posted Image
Vulpes abietorum, the British Columbian red fox
Posted Image
Anatolian red fox
Posted Image
Japanese Red fox
Posted Image
The Alskan fox, a pretty big subspecies.

Theres loads more subspecies, these are just a few, I think we should make a photographic compilation of every red fox subspecies here, the differences in morphology between subspecies can be much greater than you might assume, and I'm told there are also behavioral differences as well

Cheers, and doesn't the Alaskan fox look like it's about to get mugged by the bear lol it's walking all fancy through a rough part of the forest, and the bears like, "you came to the wrong neighbor hood"...

Yeah lol

He looks like he got deserted by his friends, "Guys, where are you? I hear footsteps, is it a rabbit?"

Then the Bear, "Off my turf bro, or shits going to go down"

Giant 35 lb fox next to normal-sized individuals.

Compare it the golden jackal below;

I've taken care to resize the second image so that the fox is the same size as the normal-sized ones in the first picture.

"As we drove past the massive grain terminal I spotted this hybrid red fox hunting among the piping. He paused, very comfortable with our presence, and posed for me.."
