Taipan, what makes that red fox a hybrid? Looks like a pure red fox to me. I think the desert red foxes are very interesting. In a lot of ways it parallels the southern wolf subspecies in that they are smaller and more primitive. |

Funnily enough I saw one today, wish I hadn't been driving as I would have took a photo. The thing was huge, must have been near the size of the 35lb er. ( was looking out for deer as a sign warned of them, thought I'd seem one at first , he was that big) |

Sounds like basils been putting a bit of weight on his brush and they used to regular nightly visitors to my garden, sniffing round the dog and cat dishes and having a quick drink from the fountain, even made me crap me self one night walking through the woods on my own and one of buggers started that screaming malarky, sounded like the exorcist Haven't heard or seen one this year around my area though. And on the topic of big foxes, the biggest one I've ever seen was a big dog fox getting chased by a pair of border collies at the old stables, it got away easily but the length of the thing, it was like an orange rool of carpet getting dragged through the grass lol. Saw him twice after that, just slinking throughthe fields in the very early morning. |
