Good find. I was worried that they'd both get run over when that car came!

Surprising how long it takes to kill a raccoon.
How long is to long?? the clip was only 1.14 secs long and they had an interruption, so lets say it took the bobcat 3 mins to kill a raccoon is that a long time?? with an animal that is fighting back? but to be fair if the bobcat is using a suffocating bite it will probably take a good deal longer..
Also a raccoon can defend itself far better then a rabbit so i would expect a good battle at the start.

And in the process take a shitload of damage. The bobcat was succesfully restraing the raccoon, keeping the dangerous teeth away from itself.

And why are you trying to start a cat vs dog war? FP has posted this awesome video and your trying to start the same old whos stronger a cat or a terrier bollocks. If you want to do that then find an Interspecific Conflict thread on the topic.

I wouldn't I happily take pictures and record away! At the moment I have failed to master calling in bobcats, however I know someone (biologist) who called in a young male by imitating a dying rabbit. The cat was apparently a few feet away before the abrupt laughter of his deceiver scared him away.

Luck would have it my chance encounter with bobcat was interrupted by a coyote in close proximity :-/

Gotta love feline! Kuddosfind felinepower.

As for terrier vs bobcat, I agree keep it in the Interspecific Conflict section.
But I will say K9boy, not all terriers take a shitload of damage, even smaller dogs have killed larger coons while coming off unscathed. Experience is the key, a dog accustomed to dispatching raccoon could kill one relatively easily, compared to the novice individual.

You have seen a bobcat? Lucky.

And yes I do agree something like a trained patterdale could take a raccoon with little injury. Its pretty impressive, considering larger dogs such as coonhounds take alot longer to dispatch them and get badly hurt in the proccess.

Also, strangulation takes longer then snapping the neck, which is what dogs generally do to coons.

Raccoons have thick skin and will put up a hell of a fight . That must be a hungry bobcat !!!! And it's impossible to tell from this vid if the bobcat took any damage or if it was successful in killing the raccoon . Wish we could have seen the outcome .
